Flame + Smith IS good, but their shucker is a jerk. I do not recommend sitting at the bar.
For white tablecloth dining, I also love Merrill Inn. The sommelier, Astrid, is great.
Also in downtown Picton is the wonderful Hartley’s Tavern. It’s an industry favourite there so expect to see other restaurateurs in attendance.
About a 1 minute walk from Hartley’s is Stella’s Eatery. IF you can get in, you’ll like it. Very small, very popular.
For a fun seafood experience, you can’t go wrong with Sand & Pearl Oyster Bar. Bonus points for making a mean cocktail.
La Condesa Cucina in Bloomfield is surprisingly good and quite creative. I guess I wasn’t expecting brightly flavoured Mexican in the county.
If you want to brunch instead of breakfast, I just love the atmosphere at The Inn at the Lake on the Mountain Resort.
I like Lighthouse too. Other good breakfast options are Vic Cafe and The Bean Counter.
It’s too bad you don’t like bar food. You’re kinda missing out by not trying Tabersnak. They make the best onion rings I’ve ever tasted.
No matter what anyone says, do NOT eat at Waring House. Go for drinks when Greg Wyard is performing, he’s terrific. Avoid even the appetizers. Seriously.
