When I saw a kid (teen) with one of those gray-on-black canisters, I always assumed drug storage.
We used a slew of the small glass yogurt jars to house tea lights at a family wedding and afterwards passed them on to a friend who did the same. They’ve been circularing like that for over five years now. Same with the cases of squatty tequila bottles (Patron) used as flower vases. The cloth bags would be great, as mentioned before, for use in luggage or as a produce storage bag in the fridge. I’d like to see what the TSA thinks when they see a bag of ‘lentils’ in your suitcase. Good sturdy metal containers are fab for dry goods storage or nuts and bolts, garden seed storage and odds and ends. Even hiding some $$ in your pantry. (There is another story concerning that for another time!) Recreation centers, church Sunday or Saturday schools, Scouts and of course, summer camps can benefit from your donation, too. Good luck. As someone who has hunted down ‘recyclables’ for decades to repurpose, I appreciate the effort put out by the donor.
Freecycle is your friend. (I know the Oui jars go, because my friend recycles them.)
A suggestion of use to probably no one here: the freebie table at some science fiction conventions. It’s mostly for books and magazines, but I find this great for odd small items. I once put a bag of about a hundred used brass paper fasteners out and it went almost immediately, probably for armor in costumes.
Now there is a cause I would be happy to support!! ![]()
So. Many. Things. I finally bought (paid for!) one of those textile recycling bags.
