They are like me, but everything is relative. I always ask the waitstaff to describe the food, mindful of where I am. In New Orleans, “mild” can be way too hot (as I found out) and in San Antonio the waitress casually mentioned that a soup was finished with a touch of Scotch Bonnet pepper (avoided, of course).
Still, I’ve been caught out a few times, but sue? Never!
