Counter Culture is easy to find, I was surprised to see it in Fort Meyers Florida in December. Glad they are able to scale up. I like the Hologram and Forty-Six blends.
Some news about SF’s Graffeo:

I wish they kept longer hours. 9-5 sadly doesn’t work for me.
Peet’s. Colombia, House Blend, French Roast. They’re all good for different moods. We’ve been faithful to them for over 50 years. BITD they partnered with the Bay Area food banks and produced a CD with KFOG (a SF rock station) called ‘Live Fom the Archives’. We collected them all!
They do sell their beans at some local stores, e.g. Little Original Joe’s in West Portal and Le Beau Market in Nob Hill. Probably not as fresh as from their storefront of course.
Linea.
I take wine and coffee reviews with a grain of salt but there was just a good review of Counter Culture coffees on Coffee Review:
I recently tried some Black Oak Roast Coffees:
Sumatra - Abyssinia: Somewhat disappointing. Lacking in depth of flavor with a slight burned aftertaste.
Ethiopia - Yirgacheffe Natural: Excellent. Rich and cocoa like. Tried as espresso and French Press. It was absolutely fantastic as French press coffee with layers of flavors of raspberry and chocolate.
Indonesia - Bali Kintamani: Excellent. Not as good as the Yirgacheffe in the French press, but slightly better than the Yirgacheffe as espresso.
+1 CoRo is putting out awesome stuff. They also have a cafe in which you can check out some of the roasters’ stuff on rotation.
I think some of the roasters at CoRo are putting out the best light roast coffee in the Bay Area. In particular, Flowerchild Coffee (typically light, washed, and clean) and Hydrangea Coffee (often funkier, fruitier) are both great roasters who IIRC still roast out of CoRo. Moonwake Coffee also roasts out of there and I’ve had some very good light roast from them.
In my perfect world i could get a subscription from coro, featuring different roasters, also with some flexibility in quantity.
Right now i am doing 12oz every 2 weeks from fourbarrel and it leaves me one or two days short.
i’m using Trade Coffee for my sub. it’s fairly flexible on the frequency and quantity. they pull from roasters all over the country, i like it b/c it exposes me to things i never would have tried. there’s a lot of Bay Area representation but you can’t tailor it to geography (other than selectively pausing shipments).
MistoBox is a good subscription service too.
