Nope, I’m sure not. But, if you want great duck, go to Francie. We’ve been very impressed - feeds 3 (or 2 with leftovers).
Im feeling like they may have lost their investors a whole lot of money in their veg phase.
Its been many years since Ive been there. The first couple times I was bowled over by the simple delicous food and service. They were having reasonably priced lunch deals then, too, it was fairly early days. The last time I felt there were too many cooking gimmicks and I lost interest. This last was well before Humm went veggie and I was a guest of our outside counsel for the meal. I think my days of eating at this level of dining establishment (and interest) has ebbed considerably given the crazy cost and the artificiality of it all.
On the strength of a duck dish from a chance dinner booking decades ago, we later but pretty soon after took Mom and Dad to L’Arpege before M. Passard publicly embraced vegetables. Quite sure Mom ordered some poisson dish; not sure about Dad or us, though duck would have been the usual suspect.
Same. Zero interest in these kinds of places at all-- not like I can afford them. I was there under Chef Kerry after they opened and loved it. Nothing in the subsequent versions of the restaurant have interested me enough to return.
