I’m sorry we missed you. We got there early at 5, and sat at our usual table by the window. Drew was kind enough to make the garlic shrimp for us. They were awesome, and the bread soaks up that garlicky sauce.
edited we got there right before 5 as well. Tell Drew to put those shrimp on the menu I’ve never had them.
Wonderful pics as always. That strawberry dish looks incredible. Nice to see drew not resting in his laurels
Thanks Mr. Met! Yes, the strawberries were really fresh and went great with the creamy ricotta and crispy bread.
He probably doesn’t have them on the menu because they are very spicy, and the majority of the customers don’t like spicy food. He also makes a dynamite version with crawfish that are even spicier. I guess you can try asking the server to ask Drew if he would make you the spicy garlic shrimp that he makes for Eli.
What did you have to eat?
Thank you! Your lunch looked exquisite.
Yeah yeah yeah we all know how good Drew’s is, don’t think that distracts from the always beautiful Mrs P’s creations! Oh by the way have I mentioned how beautiful she looks tonight?
Thank you. It was very lovely and the chocolate dessert was to die for !
Have a wonderful week ahead.
oh too bad they never have them on the menu. We do like spicy.
For apps our table had the pulled pork mac and cheese, stuffies, oysters, and pork belly. The scallion pancake/pickles and other items were missed with the new cole slaw side that comes with the pork
For dinner some got the chicken fried steak option (all enjoyed very much) and voodoo shrimp dinner. Everything was great as usual. Seemed like the dining room filled up early and really quickly as compared to the usual staggered seating of customers at opening.
Those were some good choices. I love the pulled pork mac and cheese, oysters, and pork belly. Too bad he changed up the pork belly. His pickles are really good, and so is the scallion pancake. The stuffies special was very tasty, but some of the clams might have been a little tough.
I was seriously considering the chicken fried steak, but was steered towards the always excellent pork chop by our server.
Yes, it did fill up quite early.
Agree about the clams.
Just came across this somewhere and thought it looked pretty cool if anyone was looking for something new/different
We enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Drew’s. I had an awesome espresso rubbed hog chop. We also had alligator for the first time. It was prepared Nashville hot chicken style (little pieces fried up nice and crispy with some very spicy hot sauce seasoning). Some other appetizers that we enjoyed were fried green tomatoes; delicious spicy honey glazed ham ribs; tomato panzanella salad; and wagyu beef tartare with a muffulletta stuffing. I also ordered eggplant bolognese over cavatelli to go, to have during the week. There were plenty of leftovers to cover dinner for the rest of the week. It all went great with an excellent cabernet.
Another success story !!
Have a healthy and lovely summer.
Thank you @Barca! Same to you!
We enjoyed yet another outstanding dinner at Drew’s. We enjoyed an excellent heirloom tomato tart with roast garlic and herb ricotta; chorizo con queso mac n cheese with corn chip crumbs and pickled chilis; spicy Cajun crawfish; Southwestern green chili and garlic meatballs with roasted Jersey corn, and chipotle cheese grits; scallops with sweet corn risotto; pan seared yellowfin tuna with eggplant caponata, and I finally had the chicken fried steak with jalapeño popper gravy on the side. It came with 2 humongous pieces. I took one home for a separate dinner, along with tons of other leftovers, including a whole order of jambalaya to go for during the week. Everything went great with an excellent 2013 Whitehall Lane Napa cabernet.
We enjoyed another excellent dinner at Drew’s. We enjoyed pork belly, blackened swordfish, Cajun crawfish, fried green tomatoes, crab and crawfish cake, and broiled oysters. I took home an SPCCT for dessert and cavatelli with eggplant bolognese for dinner later in the week. It all went great with an excellent Seghesio Zinfandel.
We enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Drew’s. We enjoyed a sensational mushroom bread pudding; Cajun shrimp; excellent mussels with bacon, shallots, garlic, and dijon cream; broiled oysters, and a Cajun veal chop with chipotle cheese grits.
It all went great with an excellent Spanish Priorat and French blend.
We took home the usually excellent SCCPT for dessert.
Gorgeous Black Slate, Priorat red …
Wow, on menu … Especially the prawns and the mussels.
