Do you trust restaurant websites?

I certainly don’t trust an unfamiliar restaurant on being open Sundays, Mondays, or Tuesdays (which seem to be the popular closing days) even if the menu says so. (But I will trust them on being closed.) I probably trust the opening time for lunch; I rarely need to worry about the closing time for dinner.

But I also tend toward just checking the menu to get an idea of the food and the prices. (And if I haven’t been there in a while, I actually check Yelp to see if they’re closed, because that seems more reliable than trusting an abandoned website. )

fwiw, very few restaurants host their own websites so every time they want to make a change it costs money. it’s not a bait-and-switch. or are you the type of person who thinks everyone is out to cheat you?

what sounds terrible? any kind of soft cheese can be whipped so it’s lighter and more airy. caramelized onions (likely the relish) and mushrooms are delicious together.
