While it’s a tourist trap, Scoma’s is my favourite for cioppino, Crab Louis and crabcakes. Franciscan is my second choice for cioppino, but it’s been a long time.

I’ve always wondered about Cioppino’s. Hope it was decent. I haven’t been to the Wharf or California since Sept 2018, and I miss it.
We ate at Fog Harbour last time- chose that because my cousins had a toddler and I thought Pier 39 might be easier for them- and they bitched about my choice of restaurant - saying there were better places to eat (duh)- when I had asked them to choose a restaurant anywhere in the city at least 3 times. Lol.

It actually was better than expected. Because I had a meeting right after lunch, I had the seafood fettuccine rather than the cioppino. All of the fish & seafood elements were cooked properly, the pasta was al dente, and the sauce was seasoned well.
