I agree with that. Unfortunately, you have to go to LA to experience it, there is no equivalent in SF.

We did a 2-week driving trip in May 2015 and this was the highlight meal, due to its uniqueness. I was asked on the Northern CA board to post details. It’s very long, since there were 4 of us and this was an elaborate, multi-course, 2-hr dinner. Oh that’s me. I got curious about Lethe2020’s note about this meal in her Best Bites 2015 thread- unique, eccentric, kaiseki, and the fact that we pretty much only get the BBQ, fried chicken and tofu, etc. places here in Santa Clara and Oakland. So I asked Lethe2020 to say a bit more about the meal.

I wasn’t expecting this epic review of an epic meal- thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us @Lethe2020 .

Oh you mean the cross post? Thought you were referring to the review itself. I think its because this question was raised originally on the NorCal board. We can certainly have these few posts moved back to the original Best Bites thread which is a more natural place for them.
