I also found the Alchemist’s Focal Banger at the store. It tastes quite a bit like Heady Topper but lighter.
Focal Banger : Heady Topper :: Blind Pig : Pliny the Elder ?
I like it.

Pliny for President by Russian River Brewing Company (Windsor, CA) - Imperial IPA
Pliny the Elder is one of the most well known and liked WCIPAs snd this “election” variation might be even better balanced with peaches and citrus flavors upfront before some floral and slightly dank notes come in. Dry and medium bitter finish. It is impressive how well balanced this beer is and might set a standard for WCIPA.
Coffee & Cigarettes by Cellarmaker Brewing Company (Oakland, CA) - Coffee Porter
Good combination of dark coffee flavor and smoked malts which work surprisingly well together. Additional tastes of chocolate, caramel and toffee with slight sweetness from the malts. Faint astringency in the dry finish. Good sipping beer.
Love the dry finish of good schwarz.
I hope he keeps rolling like that. I love being able to read enthusiasm.
Rereading this it looks more like a google translation of an English description, and since Albercht (sic) has been rather quiet since their first pot, you could just run it through reverse
Yeah, I can tell a Google translate in Spanish like right now. It was really weak a few years ago, when I was still teaching Spanish, and I busted kids at the onset. Then, my final exam was to write a kiddie book in Spanish. One kid I called in to confront. “-What! I did that myself.” “-Next time you use a translator, make sure you pick the right language. This was French, and pretty weak French at that.” I still give that one -time kid hell over that.
Wicked Juicy by Cellarmaker Brewing Company (Oakland, CA) - NEIPA
Appropriate name which could be even more accurately “Wicked floral juicy” - Starts with a great wave of tropical notes (peach, mango, passion fruit, orange) before a bit unexpectedly strong floral notes come in which gain some grassy, piney notes. Medium bitter finish with faint hints of sweetness in the background. Interesting profile with the strong floral flavors.
Dub Dub - Citra, Strata, Mosaic Cryo by New Image Brewing (Arvada, CO) - NE DIPA
Surprisingly thick mouthfeel which brings out the tropical flavors and juiciness (lots of peach, orange and mango) even more than normal in a NEIPA. Some mild piney flavors later on but otherwise a dry, low bitterness finish. Quite strong juice bomb which would have benefited from some more bitterness and dankness.
Nelson Sun Club by Alvarado Street Brewery (Monterey, CA) - IPA
Nelson Sauvin hops are often described as white wine like and this WCIPA nicely captures this characteristic - citrus and mainly grape/wine like flavors dominate this beer with some floral notes coming later. Dry, low bitterness finish. Overall a light and unusual WCIPA.
King Size Peanut Brother by Great Notion Brewing (Portland, OR) - Imperial Stout
Very well balanced imperial stout with good flavors of roasted malts, dark caramel, black coffee and the addition of peanut butter without the peanut butter getting too dominant. Good bitterness in the long lasting finish with hints of chocolate.
Conduct of Life was on draft as of Aug 26th at Olde Magoun’s Saloon:
Thx! That’s worth the 20-minute drive for me…
If any of you beer heads ever make it to the City of Brotherly Love, this should be a must-stop for you:
I hope they have plenty of fridges to store their beer which aren’t on the pics - at least on the pictures there seem to IPAs etc stored at rt which any serious beer shop wouldn’t do as the quality of a number of beer styles to go bad quite rapidly when not stored in fridges
Yes, they have plenty of fridges.

Schlenkerla Helles from the purveyor I mentioned above. The first non-smoked Schlenkerla I’ve had. Very nice Helles.
Looking forward to trying their Schwarzbier and their Rotbier next
I adore their doppelbock
