@heidicooksandbakes, the cake is infused with lemon juice and zest. The syrup is a thyme ginger syrup and I did use it. While the bundt was baking I made the syrup on the stove, used a fine sieve to pull out the flavorings and kept the syrup in a glass bowl on the stove as the recipe suggested to keep it warm and pourable. I used a wooden skewer to poke holes in the cake while it was still warm in the pan. The cake soaked up all of the syrup. After 20 mins I turned the cake out on the plate. :crossed_fingers:the cake pulled out of the pan pretty well.
