[Barcelona] Asador de Aranda

Hi erica1,
I’ve mentioned the Eurostars Aurea Palacio de Correos, which is your style of hotel. Don’t think it’s as wonderful as the Casa Palacio María Luisa, but it´s the city’s best hotel these days. I’ll be checking in out in September when we go up to La Rioja for 6 days and will report back.

It does make much more sense, actually, for you to stay in the center of Logroño to have all the tapas bars and restaurants and shops at your doorstep. Day driving in the Rioja is easy but not at night, when it´s so dark.

How does Kaia Kaipe compare to Elkano for the turbot? The latter is a hard resy.

Also, what are the specialties at Askua?

@miley8811,
My friend, Gabriella, owner of Tenedor Tours, might tell you that there’s nothing comparable to Elkano’s turbot, but it is a very tough table to snag. Kai Kaipe also has their own fishermen, they pay top dollar for their specimens and KK has a magnificent wine cellar. You certainly can’t go wrong, plus they have a much larger, enclosed outdoor terrace.

Askua’s specialty is txuleta, rib steak, and steak tartare.

On Askua’a menu the steak won’t be called txuleta, it will be “Chuleta Lomo Alto de Vacuno Mayor”. Their purveyor is Luismi from the Basque Country, one of the country’s best beef purveyors.
