Could not love this more! You’re what makes this site special.
Le Petite Four in Needham has amazing baguettes. Small, home-based business. They’ve recently opened a retail shop in Wellesley, but I haven’t been yet.
When @mirage speaks, I listen. Thanks for this tip!
Valerie from Le petit four is the best. Her café has not opened in Wellesley yet, but you can order from her online. She also frequently sells at needham farmers market and Fridays at captain Marden’s in Wellesley, and Saturday at Fells market in Wellesley. Her croissants are to die for.
Interesting. Either that’s new, or they just forgot the two times I’ve bought baguettes there. Because I had a few other items, they just put everything in a big brown paper bag. No sleeves.
You don’t get crumbs in your baguette backpack?
I do get two brown paper bags with the baguettes, for the bottom and the top.
Back atcha!
Those croissants!!! The almond…wowzer!
She’s a genius!
I was intrigued by this lapse, so I went there today to check [1]. They do sleeve (and they say they always have):
I knew the worrier in you would want to know if this completely protects the baguette, and they assured me they would double sleeve on request.
On the way home, though, I wondered if the warrior in you would be satisfied by this countertop picture, hiding as it does the contents. Where’s the proof that there’s a baguette, you might ask, ready to duel me at dawn. OK, here:
[1] Actually, I went for a tofu banh mi next door, then stopped to check.
Oooh how was the banh mi?
Since I don’t want to divert attention from baguettes here, I’ll only say that it’s one of the best things I’ve eaten recently.
WOW! What kind @fooddabbler ?
Banh mi is baguette adjacent for me, since it is on a mini-baguette.
Hmm, so your experience just shows me they don’t want to sleeve my bread… I do think it’s because I often order other items that they’ll put in a bag, that they might think a sleeve is needed.
I’m going to try tomorrow after my doctor’s appt, if I have enough time. It is end of day so they might run out of bread too.
@sallyt and @kobuta , the banh mi saga continues here.
