Anybody growing aliums?

How do you mean ‘bother’? Half of that green stuff is cilantro which will die in the cold. Last year I had tulips and allium coming up amongst the garlic with no problems.

I was asking if squirrels bothered your parsley, and, I guess, cilantro. I would guess, at least where I am, that they’d mow them down.

I’ve not had the squirrels eating in the garden but they do love to dig and bury in the nice soft raised beds. Also our squirrels are not too bold as our dog loves chasing them.

Funny that they never bothered parsley and cilantro that I tried to grow. Maybe I also wasn’t very good at that, because they were a bit stubby and not that full looking. Squirrels and bunnies might have been throwing me some shade.

But the squirrels do like to bury their food in my raised beds too. And of course this year, seemingly in any put that was wider than 4 inches.

They also avoid my chives (Chinese and regular) for the most part, but I noticed about a week or two ago that the ones left growing wild were all nibbled down to about 3 inch stubs. :confounded: The weather really started getting colder, so I guess tough times makes them not so choosy

Got my garlic in the ground today - four 4x4 beds planted in a 7x7 grid for 196 plants total. I planned to prep the beds with some manure but all of my local stores were out when I went shopping so I decided to try bone meal and blood meal instead.

Wow! Good job. I’m still procrastinating.
