True!
It bothers me when Iām served food on a cold tortilla. I donāt do burritos for the reason Natascha outlines, but even a taco should not be made with a cold tortilla. At minimum, warm the thing up. Kind of a must for corn tortillas. Slap it on the pan or lay it over a burner for a little.
Iād much rather eat a taco than a burrito, as I donāt care much for rice & beans. But I also despise wraps of any kind. Flavorless, floppy, useless.
On wraps I agree.
Sometimes I just eat the middle.
Nothing wrong with eating hot dogs with knife and fork, especially if youāre eating beanie weenies (Cassoulet Americano )
But then why even bother getting a burrito? If I want(ed) rice n beans with my meats or seafood, I would just order a dish that has those things, minus the stoopid floopiness
cold tortillas are a Wisconsin problem ?
yes I was thinking like in Florida. My bad.
Glad to see that Lake Perch is available again. It was over fished years ago because every tavern in towns bordering the great lakes had all you can eat fish fries on Friday.
Hence the proliferation of bowls, one of the better, newer food ideas.
I agree, but isnāt it odd how wraps are so close to flautas, which can be pretty good.
Some places only have burritos, tacos or tostadas.
Also, some burritos/ tacos are worth trying, at least once.
I also leave the wrapper on my roti when I get West Indian food. I want some roti, but not all of it.
The tortilla is essential for birria.
I donāt mind tortillas, I just leave some behind.
You can keep your tacos, burritos, flautas, etc because I prefer chimichangas. When i was a high school student in Glendale, CA, seniors could go off campus for lunch. One of the closest places to school was āTaco Treatā on North Verdugo Rd. Though they called them āfried burritosā, we always called them āchimichangasā. The Glendale location is long gone, but Taco Treat still exists in Arcadia on East Live Oak Ave and they still sell those āfried burritosā. I havenāt lived in the US since 2009 and not in the LA area since 2007 (I live in Japan now), but I miss chimichangas a great dealā¦especially the ones from Taco Treat!
(Per Yelp, this is a mega-fried bean and cheese āburritoā)
I rarely see anyone eat the wonder bread. Just use it to blot up the excess grease. If youāre filling up on bread at a bbq, youāre doing it wrong. Itās like getting white rice at the all you can eat buffet in Vegas when thereās lobster.
Sauce and grease saturated in the Wonder bread.
Some would say thereās nothing more evocative of bbq than that.
Have you ever tried a specialty bread with bbq?
Just the worst when the bread is competing rather than complimenting the meat.
Flautas are great!
Ya gotta make your own now!
