A review of all things pumpkin spice -- help us decide what's worthy or not this fall

Is ‘pumpkin spice’ gateway to some other nefarious addiction? Candy cane espresso?

My Xmas holiday equivalent to the candy cane addiction is gingerbread / molasses - which can fit the pumpkin fall theme too. But I still rue the day Starbucks killed the gingerbread latte.

Not for me. But I don’t particularly like the candy cane espresso, either. I will sometimes sample Wahine’s splurge drip with a pump of peppermint, though.

Seen today at Aldi. Hard no for all of them.

I may possibly like these, but probably not

Mr. Bionda brought home some Krispy Kreme pumpkin spice cake doughnuts the other day - from the grocery store, not an actual KK location. Not bad with coffee. Spice flavor was cinnamon forward, no clove, and restrained overall. The doughnut itself was a little dry but who knows how long it had been sitting on the shelf before purchase.

Pumpkin spice doughnuts are probably one of the few things that I think that flavor profile and the vehicle are a match made in heaven. Can’t say I’ve really had bad pumpkin or pumpkin spice donuts ever (not challenge). Everything else that is not a dough/cake, has been a meh. I for one am also getting pumpkin spiced out too.

Nespresso usually does a pumpkin spice coffee that isn’t too bad, and I will indulge in a pack (10 cups).

@linguafood - To be fair, I’ve had good almond coated with strong flavors that have worked well. I loved Costco’s thin mint coated almonds, but haven’t seen those come back. The pumpkin spice almonds might actually be decent. You’ll have to let us know if you decide to try.

I probably won’t, but compared to the other products they’d be the most likely I’d find palatable. I also find almonds terribly boring, so they’re pretty low in my personal nut hierarchy.

Coffee cake, too. Or pie. (Lol of course)

Wegmans has Pumpkin Spice Cannoli Dip with Cannoli shell dippers. Not my cup of tea but I can see it being tasty for someone who digs Pumpkin Spice.

Pumpkin bread is good too.

And Libby’s Pumpkin Roll!

I’ve never had the pumpkin roll, but I do also enjoy Pumpkin (Spice) moon pies.

this was really popular around Pittsburgh in the 80s and 90s.

I will keep an eye out for pumpkin spice moon pies. Moon Pies are not common here in Canada.

There are some Pumpkin Spice Vachon treats, which are like a Canadian equivalent to TastyKakes. Maybe I’ll try one this year. I’ve seen a Pumpkin Spice Passion Flakie at some point.

I just read that ‘PSL’ starts tomorrow and Peet’s is being bought out by Keurig/Dr.Pepper. :worried:

I had no idea Dr Pepper bought Peet’s!

I bought this today. Pretty good. it’s available at Sanagan’s in Kensington Market in Toronto. Eataly Toronto usually sells these seasonal flavoured milks, as well.

I ordered a half sweet Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks last week, breaking my rule about no PSLs before Sept 20th.

If you’re a bit lactose intolerant, like me, Silk Almond Creamer has your pumpkin spice jones covered. The flavor is subtle but does the job.

I saw pumpkin spice Gouda at the store today. :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:

That’s a hard no.

I really enjoyed La Colombe’s pumpkin spice canned latte, although it’s a little sweet for my taste. It contains actual pumpkin puree.

I tried it once. Not awful.

Could be worse LOL.
