2K tip but waitress can't have it

It’s the time stamp that bugs us. Sure, the card was run for the bill’s amount and untold amount that the bank was okay with when the restaurant was submitting the final total. If the card was not declined and the diner signed the check as the photo seems to show, then maybe the 2070 total resulted in exceeding the diners’ limit for that purchase? But still, the Sunday morning time stamp makes no sense for a Saturday night transaction.

(The original article said “Sunday” and didn’t say “Night”.)

The restaurant website discloses opening time everyday is 11:30 a.m. and time stamp on signed receipt reads 2020-11-29 09:17 AM.

I feel more and more justified in being generally unsure if any parts of the story are true, because of the strange discrepancies. It feels like clickbait.

Clickbait might be a generous characterization.

In my personal classification of information, not much ranks lower than “clickbait” other than malicious lying.
