Went back to get more ice pops and talked to one of the managers.
The new CEO wants to invest and improve the stores and so this is corporate driven.
Turns out Medford is one of their oldest stores and so is one of the first to get this makeover.
The same will happen all over eventually.
And I got my ice pops…
The East Hayward GO by me got a makeover. Wider aisles, lots more drinks.
I’ve been paying close attention lately to the country of origin at GO. Meats in particular are often from Canada, New Zealand or Europe. I’ve asked some of the GO owners about the tariffs and they just don’t have much of a sense about how bad it’s going to be yet, which makes sense of course, but I’m wondering about it.

Today at PA:
On Friday @ Oakland GO: Rack of lamb was on sale for $9/lb with additional $6 off.
I picked up some of that Rao’s ketchup from the Bayshore Blvd. SF G.O. but haven’t tried it yet. I Also grabbed some Rao’s vodka sauce for I think $6.99, but they are big 40 oz jars.
Curious about the Rao ketchup. Let us know how it is.
I liked it. It’s a little bolder than your standard Heinz, but nothing radical. And I like that it’s sweetened with regular cane sugar, no funky preservatives.
Thanks, I’ll look for it. Cane sugar and no weird preservatives are good.
Has anyone been trying the Simply GO brand products? I noticed that their pasta looks exactly like the packages I get at Costco that I really like - looks like same Italian product. GOs brown mustard seems fine too, tastes like Guldens.
I won’t get their Dijon mustard again. It didn’t taste quite right and had too many ingredients.
Grated Parmesan Cheese mix with Italian Seasoning, 8.99 for 2lbs. I think it’s a great price for parmesan but in this form I am planning on parmesan encrusted chicken breast in our future. Maybe some cheese crackers from scratch. It’s such a PIA to grate enough cheese to do breading with it but here my job is done for me! And I finally managed to get a picture from in the store!
