[Singapore] French breakfast at Merci Marcel, Club Street

Casual chic cafe, Merci Marcel is owned by Singaporean-Gallic duo, Marie-Charlotte Ley and Antoine Rouland, who also run popular creperie, O Comptoir, and wine bistro, O Batignolles.

The bright, sunny cafe on Club Street (the original outlet is in Tiong Bahru) sourced their ingredients from some pretty good brand-name places, e.g. La Cour d’Orgeres artisanal jam and Le Chocolat des Francais pure cocoa.

We stopped by for brunch the other weekend:
Croque Marcel - organic Bayonne ham, French Morbier cheese and organic fried egg

Benedict Eggs - organic Bayonne ham, Portobello mushroom and Hollandaise sauce.

I was told (much later) by friends that Merci Marcel’s claim-to-fame is their Ravioles de Royans, tastiest little pasta parcels ever, filled with Tête de Moine cheese. Must try that the next time.
