[Penang] Arteasan Cafe on Edgecumbe Lane

Arteasan Cafe, with its plush pink leather sofas; bright, glass-walled dining salon, and a lightweight menu, looked like the sort of place people who nibble or graze would love. Perfect place for those of us seeking to recover from Christmas season binge-eating.

We started our detox with: some fresh fruit juices - left: Blueberry with açaí berry, right: Soursop with chia seeds.

Our lunch consisted of:

  1. Cremini mushrooms, quail’s egg, truffle oil, and cheddar on toasted sourdough.

  2. Chicken & avocado salad on sourdough.

  3. Spaghetti aglio e olio, with shrimps.

  1. Pain au chocolat.

  2. Cheesecake bar with berry compote.

  3. Latte.

This place is really a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle in post-Christmas George Town.

Penang is a major local tourist destination in Malaysia and, over the Christmas Eve to Boxing Day period, it was estimated that one million cars entered Penang via the two bridges linking Penang island to mainland Malaysia. Not a good time for visitors to come to Penang at the moment.
