[Paris 2e] Trattoria Popolare

This summer, husband was testing to make pizzas at home, we have tasted several places. The second place we have visited was the hip Pizzeria Popolare. It belongs to the Big Mama group, founded by a startup with a few guys with business school degree. Concept is impressive decoration, good authentic Italian food and enormous restaurant serving at least 200 people at once.

Long queue, we lined up for at least 45 minutes, during which we watched the German football team being eliminated from the Worldcup.

Big and dim room, with candle lights.

Menu

On va aux asperges - Fior di latte, green asparagus cream, speck, Asiago and green asparagus 13€
Disappointed with the lack of asparagus, only 2 tips, the dough was okay.

Red hot burrata - Fior di latte, burrata, salami, zucchini flowers - 12€

I had a red fruit mojito

The empty plate was lovely.

There was a live band playing those cheesy Italian tunes.

The place had a good atmosphere, loud music, a lot of choice for drinks, you could have other choices if you do not want pizza. There was a 4€ pizza if you were a student and did not want to spend a lot and having fun for a night out. But as foodie, we were a bit disappointed, pizza was expensive because of the lack of ingredients. Food was correct but bear in mind that they accept no reservation and with the time of lining up, there are better choices in Paris.
