Cellermaker House of Pizza (Detroit style)
Little Star (for deep dish)
Gialina/Ragazza
Pizzeria Delfina (I like their clam pie)
June’s Pizza in Oakland was really great when it was open, I’m hopeing they will be back.
I’m not a big Neapolitan style fan, but the Bay Area has a bunch of those too - Del Popolo, Fiorello, etc.
Thanks for that !
Is that what Olio looks like these days ?
Any hints?
I actually enjoyed Merois at the Pendry, it’s one of the few places where I can take my vegan and non-vegan friends and everyone can leave happy and full.
I’ll name it …
Sweet potato stuffed crust pizza, koreatown pizza co

pro tip: get the .50 side of pesto for crust dipping…
I note that the price of pesto has gone up a bit…still tasty tho!
Ok, $3 pesto …
Pizzaria Morra used to have this awesome garlic oil stuff, sorta like papa johns but a million times better…hope they can make a triumphant return…
Eater coming thru for the pay-to-play PR set, plus two obvious beards.
Just to pick one random example beneath the radar, there’s the Berkshire House (bar) on la brea which has good pizza (def better than Vito’s and Apollonia’s) and now an $8 AYCE on Mondays…
Along the same lines, while not life-altering, or the “best” of anything, Tony’s Pizza in San Marino makes a good NY slice.
Looks like a nice post long walk at huntington pickup.
Hi ipsedixit,
At one time, I went there regularly–and I still go by frequently. When did you last go?
Hi @ElsieDee ,
Those look delicious! The crust isn’t overly charred, either, like some newer spots these days. Besides those 2 flavors, any other flavor combinations you recommend? Thanks!
Couple of weeks ago.
Can’t speak for ElsieDee, but personally I like to create my own creation with one of these two options.
Sicilian pie with Canadian bacon, pineapples, basil, onions and ricotta cheese
Neopolitan pie with extra basil, tomatoes, garlic and red onions
