We will be flying into BCN from Portugal and renting a car to drive to Calella de Palafrugell, where we are staying. Are there any great lunch spots somewhat on the way? Was thinking maybe a nice spot on the water in one of the towns along the way but would also love to hear if there are any destination restaurants to consider (a bit out of the way but I’m on the waitlist for lunch at Cellar de Can Roca but don’t expect to get in). Thank you.
I have not been there, but La Llar de Ali i Oli in Bandola is considered by some to be a destination restaurant. Just don’t expect fancy plating.
An opening at El Celler will be tough, but if you snag it, congrats!
On the way from BCN to Calella, there’s S’Agaro and its classic and serene Hotel La Gavina, a beautiful, legendary hotel on the water.
