When I was working in North Beach, one of my favorite lunch spots (and occasional dinner) was Il Casaro. Compared to a lot of the other Italian places in NB, Il Casaro impressed with its very fresh food and wood-fired pizzas. Small menu, but everything was tasty. Two of my favorites were the cavolfiori and the meatballs.
I didn’t know they’d opened one in the Castro!

The Castro site has brunch, too (with a few rather odd choices for an Italian place - fried chicken & waffles, chilaquiles, etc.)
Good to have a(nother - now that Beit Rima has opened) quality restaurant in that area.
